Crossword Genius

Money annually applied to building a satellite for Jupiter (6)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

europa

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'a satellite for jupiter' is the definition.
'europa' can be an answer for 'jupiter' (I've seen this in another clue). I am not sure about the 'a satellite for' bit.

'money annually applied to' is the wordplay.
'money' becomes 'euro' (currency of the Eurozone).
'annually' becomes 'p.a.' (synonyms).
'applied to' means one lot of letters go next to another.
'euro'+'pa'='EUROPA'

'building' is the link.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for europa that I've seen before include "A moon of Jupiter and Greek goddess" , "Princess who bore Zeus three sons - one of the moons of Jupiter" , "Satellite of Jupiter" , "old bull-lover?" , "Girl carried off by Zeus disguised as a bull" .)

I've seen this clue in The Irish Times.
