More daring bacon? (6)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

rasher

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'more daring bacon?' is the definition.
'rasher' can be an answer for 'bacon?' (I've seen this before). I am not sure about the 'more daring' bit.

'daring bacon?' is the wordplay.
'daring' becomes 'rash' (I've seen this in another clue).
'bacon?' becomes 'er' (I can't justify this - if you can you should give a lot more credence to this answer).
'rash'+'er'='RASHER'

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for rasher that I've seen before include "a little streaky?" , "Slice of meat - more reckless" , "bit of a pig" , "Comparatively ill-advised" , "A bit of bacon" .)

I've seen this clue in the Sydney Morning Herald.
