Crossword Genius

Occasional content for radio inspired by rotating crops (8)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

sporadic

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'occasional' is the definition.
(I've seen this in another clue)

'content for radio inspired by rotating crops' is the wordplay.
'content for radio' becomes 'adi' (I am not sure about this - if you are sure you should believe this answer much more).
'inspired by' indicates putting letters inside (some letters breathed in or 'inspired' by others).
'rotating' says the letters should be written backwards.
'crops' written backwards gives 'sporc'.
'adi' placed into 'sporc' is 'SPORADIC'.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for sporadic that I've seen before include "Occurring here and there, like picadors" , "Isolated; intermittent" , "Scattered - irregular" , "infrequent" , "Happening irregularly" .)

I've seen this clue in The Telegraph.
