Perfect score for some sport, with no error recalled (3)
I believe the answer is:
ten
'perfect score for some' is the definition.
(I've seen this in another clue)
'sport with no error recalled' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
'no' could be 'n' (common abbreviation y/n) and 'n' is found within the answer.
The remaining letters 'te' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for ten that I've seen before include "No of sides of a decagon" , "Very young" , "Base of decimal system" , "time" , "Cardinal number" .)
