I believe the answer is:

potting shed

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'gardening?' is the definition.
Both the answer and definition are singular nouns.
Perhaps you can see a link between them that I can't see?

'place to practise making plants in snooker' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'in' is within the answer.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).

'or' is the link.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for potting shed that I've seen before include "Where plants are put in containers with compost" , "Building in which plants are set" , "Garden construction" , "outside store" , "Depths got in (anag) ? garden building" .)

I've seen this clue in The Times.
