I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'pot' is the definition.
Although both the answer and definition are singular nouns, I don't understand how one could define the other.

'gateau served in a cr?perie' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'gateau' could be 'cake' (I've seen this before) and 'cake' is found within the answer.
'a' could be 'an' and 'an' is present in the answer.
This may be the basis of clue (or it may be nonsense).

'found in' acts as a link.
