I believe the answer is:

merry

'quite happy' is the definition.
'merry' can be an answer for 'happy' (thesaurus). I am not sure about the 'quite' bit.

'go wrong in my case' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'go' could be 'err' (erring is a kind of going) and 'err' is present in the answer.
'my' is present in the answer.
This accounts for all the letters.
This explanation may well be incorrect...

'to' is the link.

(Other definitions for merry that I've seen before include "Fjull of fun and gaiety" , "Full of fun and gaiety" , "Lively -- slightly drunk" , "Convivial" , "Jolly and gay" .)

I've seen this clue in the Evening Standard.
