I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'passed' could be 'ran' ('run' can be a synonym of 'pass') and 'ran' is located in the answer.
'nothing' could be 'o' (looks like zero - 0) and 'o' is located in the answer.
A single letter 'k' remains which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).
