Crossword Genius

Remove four, roughly, imprisoned by Egyptian king (4,3)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

turf out

'remove' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)

'four roughly imprisoned by egyptian king' is the wordplay.
'roughly' indicates an anagram.
'imprisoned by' means one lot of letters goes inside another.
'egyptian king' becomes 'tut' (Tutankhamun, the ancient Egyptian pharaoh).
'four' anagrammed gives 'urfo'.
'urfo' put within 'tut' is 'TURF OUT'.

(Other definitions for turf out that I've seen before include "Evict (F, not N)" , "Eject (F, not N)" , "Remove" .)

I've seen this clue in The Telegraph.
