Crossword Genius

Rubbish sack taken into French station (7)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

garbage

'rubbish' is the definition.
(both can mean refuse or trash)

'sack taken into french station' is the wordplay.
'sack' becomes 'bag' (I've seen this in another clue).
'taken into' means one lot of letters goes inside another.
'french station' becomes 'gare' (I've seen this in another clue).
'bag' placed into 'gare' is 'GARBAGE'.

(Other definitions for garbage that I've seen before include "Refuse - tripe" , "Rubbish - invalid computer data" , "A beggar? - that may be rubbish" , "Unwanted stuff" , "Waste, refuse" .)

I've seen this clue in The Telegraph and The Sun.
