parade

'show off' is the definition.
(I've seen this in another clue)

'unwisely to father dear' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'father' could be 'pa' (pa can mean dad or father) and 'pa' is present in the answer.
an anagram of 'dear' is 'rade' which is located in the answer.
No letters remain.
This explanation may well be incorrect...

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for parade that I've seen before include "Ostentation" , "Assembly of troops for inspection" , "Public procession or ceremonial march" , "exhibition" , "Exhibit" .)

I've seen this clue in the Evening Standard.
