Site of massacre, Missouri style? (5)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

alamo

This might be a double definition.

'site' is the first definition.
(I have seen 'Site of massacre' mean 'alamo' so perhaps 'site' could also mean 'alamo')

'massacre missouri style?' is the second definition.
'alamo' can be an answer for 'massacre' (I've seen this before). I'm unsure of the 'missouri style?' bit.

'of' acts as a link.

(Other definitions for alamo that I've seen before include "Mexicans invested in Texas" , "national monument" , "Texas mission taken by Mexican forces in 1836" , "1836 massacre at a San Antonio, Texas mission" , "Famous Texan fortress" .)

I've seen this clue in The Guardian.
