Ross

I believe the answer is:

lying

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'telling a story' is the definition.
The answer and definition can be both to do with communicating as well as being present participle verbs.
Perhaps they are linked in a way I don't understand?

'in bed?' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'in' is found in the answer.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).

'to' is the link.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for lying that I've seen before include "Not being disturbed" , "Dishonest" , "Prone or supine" , "So one can't stand" , "Matilda's behaviour" .)

I've seen this clue in the Evening Standard.
