Crossword Genius

Temple decoration? (5)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

tiara

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

This might be a double definition.

'temple' is the first definition.
The answer and definition can be both man-made objects as well as being singular nouns.
Maybe there's an association between them I don't understand?

'decoration?' is the second definition.
(I have seen 'Top decoration' mean 'tiara' so perhaps 'decoration' could also mean 'tiara')

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for tiara that I've seen before include "Crescent-shaped headdrsss or Pope's diadem" , "Half-crown?" , "Jewelled crescent-shaped headdress" , "it goes to one's head!" , "High diadem" .)

I've seen this clue in The Telegraph.
