I believe the answer is:
averse
'unwilling' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'a little poetry' is the wordplay.
'little' means to remove the last letter (the word is not quite complete).
'poetry' becomes 'verses' (lines of poetry).
'verses' with its last letter taken off is 'verse'.
'a'+'verse'='AVERSE'
'to write' is the link.
I am not very happy about this link. Some or all of it may belong to another bit of the clue.
