'upbraided dancers' is the definition.
The answer and definition can be both to do with communicating as well as being past participle verbs.
Maybe they are linked in a way I don't understand?

'centre who obstruct view of top diva' is the wordplay.
'centre' indicates the central letters.
'obstruct' means one lot of letters goes inside another (inserted letters interrupt or obstruct the word).
'view' becomes 'cide' (I can't justify this - if you can you should give a lot more credence to this answer).
'of top' indicates taking the first letters (I've seen 'top' mean this).
The central letter of 'who' is 'h'.
The first letter of 'diva' is 'd'.
'h' going within 'cide' is 'chide'.
'chide'+'d'='CHIDED'

'at' acts as a link.

(Other definitions for chided that I've seen before include "Reprimanded or rebuked" , "Scolded or rebuked" .)

I've seen this clue in The Irish Times.
