Upsetting predicament partly due to drink? (5)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

cider

'drink?' is the definition.
(I know that cider is a type of drink)

'upsetting predicament partly' is the wordplay.
'upsetting' says the letters should be written in reverse.
'partly' says the answer is hidden in the clue (part of the clue is used).
'redic' is hidden within 'predicament'.
'redic' back-to-front is 'CIDER'.

'due to' acts as a link.

(Other definitions for cider that I've seen before include "Scrumpy" , "Alcoholic drink from fermented apple juice" , "Beverage from apple juice" , "Drink made from fermented apples" , "Drink made from apple juice" .)

I've seen this clue in The Irish Times.
