Crossword Genius

Very fine hotel provided by travel company (8)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

hairline

'very fine' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)

'hotel provided by travel company' is the wordplay.
'hotel' becomes 'h' (phonetic alphabet: alpha, bravo, charlie etc.).
'provided by' says to put letters next to each other.
'travel company' becomes 'airline' (company working in air travel).
'h'+'airline'='HAIRLINE'

(Other definitions for hairline that I've seen before include "extremely thin" , "Of a crack, very thin" , "A very narrow crack, a little hirsute?" , "Very narrow opening" , "Natural margin on the head (that recedes)" .)

I've seen this clue in The Telegraph.
