I believe the answer is:

off drive

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'a shot' is the definition.
(type of cricket shot)

'very loud doctor hampered by nothing' is the wordplay.
'very loud' becomes 'ff' (musical abbreviation).
'doctor' becomes 'd' (eg in PhD, Doctor of Philosophy).
'hampered' becomes 'rive' (I can't justify this - if you can you should give a lot more credence to this answer).
'by' is a charade indicator (letters next to each other).
'nothing' becomes 'O' (looks like zero - 0).
'ff'+'d'+'rive'='ffdrive'
'ffdrive' put after 'o' is 'OFF-DRIVE'.

'and i have' acts as a link.
I am not very happy about this link. Some or all of it may belong to another bit of the clue.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for off drive that I've seen before include "One sent to cover" , "Stroke of a cricketer" .)

I've seen this clue in the Sydney Morning Herald.
