Crossword Genius

When dancing, be a square with graceful move (9)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

arabesque

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'graceful move' is the definition.
Although both the answer and definition are singular nouns, I can't understand how they can define each other.

'when dancing be a square' is the wordplay.
'when dancing' indicates anagramming the letters (letters dance around).
'be'+'a'+'square'='beasquare'
'beasquare' is an anagram of 'ARABESQUE'.

'with' acts as a link.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for arabesque that I've seen before include "posture only half-supported" , "Short elaborate piece of music from Basque era" , "Elaborate design with leaves, scrolls etc" , "part of ballet" , "Decorative design; ballet pose" .)

I've seen this clue in the Sydney Morning Herald.
