Wobbly stuff, Hindu music rejected (4)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

agar

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'wobbly stuff' is the definition.
'agar' can be an answer for 'stuff' (agar is a kind of stuff). I'm not sure about the 'wobbly' bit.

'hindu music rejected' is the wordplay.
'hindu music' becomes 'raga' (I've seen this in another clue).
'rejected' says the letters should be written backwards.
'raga' written backwards gives 'AGAR'.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for agar that I've seen before include "Seaweed jelly" , "Gelatinous substance from seaweed used as a thickener in foods." , "Food thickener (derived from seaweed)" , "Medium for growth" , "Jelly got from seaweeds, used in foods" .)

I've seen this clue in The Guardian.
