Crossword Genius

Work due after Pole undressed (4)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

nude

'undressed' is the definition.
(I've seen this in another clue)

'work due after pole' is the wordplay.
'work' indicates anagramming the letters.
'after' means one lot of letters go next to another.
'pole' becomes 'n' (abbreviation for North, as in North Pole).
'due' with letters rearranged gives 'ude'.
'ude' put after 'n' is 'NUDE'.

(Other definitions for nude that I've seen before include "Flesh-coloured" , "totally exposed" , "Classic art subject" , "Naked art subject" , "The Thinker, maybe" .)

I've seen this clue in the Sydney Morning Herald.
