'arrogance' is the definition.
I don't know anything about this answer so I cannot judge whether this works.

'your footwear problem stems from' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
an anagram of 'your' is 'ryou' which is within the answer.
'footwear' could be 'boots' (I've seen this before) and 'boots' is located in the answer.
'from' could be 'o' (I've seen this in other clues) and 'o' is present in the answer.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).

I've seen this clue in the Sydney Morning Herald.
