Crossword Genius

A big name in astronomy? (4)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

star

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

This could be a double definition.

'a big name' is the first definition.
(I've seen this before)

'astronomy?' is the second definition.
Although both the answer and definition are singular nouns, I don't see how they can define each other.

'in' is the link.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for star that I've seen before include "Chaste, pure" , "Celebrity - heavenly body" , "Bright" , "Outstanding entertainer" , "virtuoso" .)
