I believe the answer is:

shoulder

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'the side of the road' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)

'a place to cry on can be found' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
'cry' could be 'ho' and 'ho' is present in the answer.
This may be the basis of clue (or it may be nonsense).

'at' acts as a link.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for shoulder that I've seen before include "Take burden onto this joint" , "take responsibility?" , "Cut of meat" , "Joint between the neck and arm" , "Carry a burden" .)

I've seen this clue in The Hindu.
