Crossword Genius

Birds move around one pole (7)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

budgies

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'birds' is the definition.
(budgie is a kind of bird)

'move around one pole' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'one' could be 'i' (Roman numeral) and 'i' is present in the answer.
'move' could be 'budge' (to budge is to move slightly) and 'budge' is found within the remaining letters.
'pole' could be 's' (abbreviation for South, as in South Pole) and 's' is found in the answer.
This accounts for all the letters.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).

Can you help me to learn more?

(Another definition for budgies that I've seen is " Small parakeets".)
