Crossword Genius

Clubs, for example, with instances of luggage (9)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

suitcases

'luggage' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)

'clubs for example with instances' is the wordplay.
'clubs for example' becomes 'suit' (clubs is a playing card suit).
'with' says to put letters next to each other.
'instances' becomes 'cases' ('case' can be a synonym of 'instance').
'suit'+'cases'='SUITCASES'

'of' is the link.

(Another definition for suitcases that I've seen is " Items of luggage".)

I've seen this clue in the Sydney Morning Herald.
