Endless game in which pig may be bought? (4)
I believe the answer is:
poke
'in which pig may be bought?' is the definition.
Although both the answer and definition are singular nouns, I can't understand how they can define each other.
'endless game' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'game' could be 'p' (I have seen 'French game ' mean 'p' so perhaps 'game' could also mean 'p') and 'p' is found in the answer.
The remaining letters 'oke' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for poke that I've seen before include "Proverbial pig container?" , "Prod with a sharp object" , "Jab or prod" , "Jab (with a finger)" , "Probe with stick" .)
