Ross

I believe the answer is:

clothing

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'garments' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)

'hamper holding spare' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'spare' could be 'thin' (similar in meaning) and 'thin' is found within the answer.
'hamper' could be 'clog' (I've seen this in another clue) and 'clog' is found in the leftover letters.
No letters remain.
This explanation may well be incorrect...

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for clothing that I've seen before include "Apparel, garb" , "wardrobe" , "Garments" , "Possibly drag" , "trousers?" .)

I've seen this clue in The Globe and Mail.
