Large netting -- a little of this may be dangerous? (8)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

learning

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'this may be dangerous?' is the definition.
Although both the answer and definition are singular nouns, I don't understand how one could define the other.

'large netting a little' is the wordplay.
'large' becomes 'L' (eg in clothes sizes).
'netting' becomes 'earning' (both can mean making money).
'little' means to remove the last letter (the word is not quite complete).
'l'+'earning'+'a'='learninga'
'learninga' with its final letter removed is 'LEARNING'.

'of' is the link.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for learning that I've seen before include "Large inn (anag)" , "(Knowledge from) study" , "Cognitive process of acquiring skill or knowledge" , "Aquiring skill or knowledge" , "Instruction" .)

I've seen this clue in The Telegraph.
