Ross

I believe the answer is:

dated

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'out of fashion' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)

'invited for a tryst' is the wordplay.
'invited' becomes 'd' (I can't explain this - if you can you should believe this answer much more).
'for' is a charade indicator (letters next to each other) (I've seen this in other clues).
'a tryst' becomes 'date' (a tryst is a romantic date).
'd' after 'date' is 'DATED'.

'being' acts as a link.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for dated that I've seen before include "Went out with - old hat" , "No longer fashionable or current" , "Obsolete" , "Revealed the age of" , "Old-fashioned" .)

I've seen this clue in The Times.
