I believe the answer is:

golf

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'playing this one might be' is the definition.
Although both the answer and definition are singular nouns, I can't see how one could define the other.

'upsetting record on loudly' is the wordplay.
'upsetting' says the letters should be written in reverse.
'record' becomes 'log' (log is a kind of record).
'on' is a charade indicator (letters next to each other).
'loudly' becomes 'f' (short for forte - 'loud' in music).
'log' reversed gives 'gol'.
'gol'+'f'='GOLF'

'putting' is the link.
