Ross

I believe the answer is:

title page

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'leaf' is the definition.
(title page is a kind of leaf)

'possibly honour boy attendant' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'boy' could be 'page' (a young male servant) and 'page' is found within the answer.
The remaining letters 'title' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...

'identifying' is the link.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for title page that I've seen before include "beginning to work" , "to start work" , "One of the first leaves" , "One starting book" , "Petite gal (anag.)" .)

I've seen this clue in The Times.
