Ross

I believe the answer is:

flattery

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'praise' is the definition.
(I know that flattery is a type of compliment)

'drink tackled by cook' is the wordplay.
'drink' becomes 'latte' (type of coffee drink).
'tackled' means one lot of letters goes inside another.
'by cook' becomes 'fry' (frying is a type of cooking. I am not sure about the 'by' bit.).
'latte' going into 'fry' is 'FLATTERY'.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for flattery that I've seen before include "Sweet talk" , "Cosying up" , "Could it get you anywhere?" , "''Imitation is the sincerest form of . . . . . . . .'' (8)" , "Mendacious praise" .)

I've seen this clue in The Telegraph.
