Ross

I believe the answer is:

interrogate

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'question' is the definition.
(I know that question can be written as interrogate)

'of treating one in a new way' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
'of' could be 'o' and 'o' is present in the answer.
'one' could be 'i' (Roman numeral) and 'i' is located in the answer.
'a' is present in the answer.
'new' could be 'n' (common abbreviation eg NT for New Testament) and 'n' is located in the answer.
'way' could be 'e' (Compass direction - East) and 'e' is found within the answer.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for interrogate that I've seen before include "Question closely" , "Formally question" , "Cross-examine" , "Ask questions of (someone)" .)

I've seen this clue in The Globe and Mail.
