I believe the answer is:

obstinate

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'wilful' is the definition.
Both the definition and answer are adjectives. Maybe there's a link between them I don't understand?

'child mostly climbing say around home' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'around' could be 'o' (a round letter) and 'o' is found in the answer.
'home' could be 'at' (synonyms) and 'at' is present in the answer.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for obstinate that I've seen before include "Like mules" , "Stubborn, obdurate" , "such as a mule" , "Inflexible" , "Blindly stubborn" .)

I've seen this clue in The Guardian.
